Sai Global Leadership Program Application

This is a collaborative initiative between the United Nations Association of Greater Philadelphia and Sai Temple to involve the local community in solving pressing global problems. Presently, the initiative focuses upon UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) 2030 as a foundation and invites participation from the local youth community (high school, college, and university students). The program consists of a discussion on several topics such as social justice, self-identity, etc. and links them with the UNSDG 2030. The goal is to develop several feasible and sustainable project ideas at the end of this program to solve the global problems. The program is divided into 6 biweekly 2-hour sessions (venue/date/day/time of the sessions will be announced later) along with a final session dedicated to the presentation of the developed ideas to the community. Application Guidelines

ELIGIBILITY AND THE APPLICATION PROCESS:

The high school, college, and university students are invited to apply. If a candidate is under 18 years of age, the parent/guardian is requested to SIGN/PRINT the application.

As a part of the application process, the applicants are requested to submit an essay (as mentioned in detail below), which will be evaluated by the committee. Applicants will be notified of a decision in two to three weeks.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

• Candidates must understand and assume all responsibilities that are given to them.
• Candidates MUST be willing to comply with ALL UNAGP and Sai Temple rules and regulations.
• Candidates must attend all training courses that are required. (If a candidate is unable to attend, a notice of 7 days must be given to be excused)
• If a candidate DOES NOT attend a session without a notice, a one-time warning will be issued and noted on the given records. If a candidate fails to inform others of absence twice, he or she will immediately be removed from the program and will not be eligible to re-apply nor receive any certificates of participation.
• All candidates MUST submit the application form before the due date ON TIME to the application portal with the completed essay without fail for his or her application to be considered.
• Applicants MUST understand that becoming a part of this service-oriented team is a RESPONSIBILITY, and it should be taken seriously.
• The committee of board members reserves the right to remove any candidate without explanation if any rules or regulations are broken.
• The decision of the committee regarding the candidate selection, granting of program completion certificates is final.
• Candidates are responsible for his/her own safety and all others, within the temple or other alternate premises during the classes.
• Candidates are requested to be courteous and carry themselves professionally at all time during the classes.
• Candidates are requested to be flexible and understanding for any possible changes to be made in their schedule due to necessity and unanticipated requirements.
• Candidates may be required to work under the guidance of lead volunteers, committee person.
• The Committee reserves the right to deny the classes/service to any candidates if it feels necessary due to any unforeseen circumstances.
• Candidates are expected to follow all the general, ethical, cultural and religious guidelines followed in the temple.
• Temple or the committee is not responsible for any accidental or any other injury, disability or loss of belongings within the temple.
