Sai Temple General Committee Meeting

Date: 02/11/2018 (recurs every 2nd Sunday of the month)

  1. This general committee meeting was a joint meeting with Temple Management Committee.
  2. The meeting began at 4:10 PM and continued until 5:45 PM.
  3. The meeting was attended by several existing members and a few new members. New members introduced themselves.
  4. Chairs shared updates about their committee’s progress.
  5. The following several discussions took place at this meeting
  6. Debasis Chakrabarti was invited to be the chair of Religious Committee at the temple
  7. The recommendation was made to the volunteers to take responsibility to solve problems as and when they identify them and if they are trivial in nature.
  8. In situations where supplies are needed for upcoming temple programs, a list may be provided to the priest or can be purchased and reimbursed.
  9. Temple management committee emphasized on devotee engagement as well as focusing, prioritizing and developing a timeline
  10. Online reputation management of the temple was brought up in this meeting and was emphasized. Ratings at Google, Facebook are crucial factors for Temple reputation.
  11. Announcements were made about the availability of funds from fundraising during Saraswathi Pooja
  12. Suggestion box was proposed to be installed at the temple
  13. Problems in relation to unclean vessels as well as kitchen room temperature were discussed.
  14. Request was made to involve kids more in religious as well as other secondary and tertiary activities
  15. Telegu Media coverage for Shivratri was proposed.
  16. Propositions were made to have physical counter at the temple to assist people with information and registration
  17. There was a discussion on providing acknowledgment email after volunteer registration
  18. Suggestions were made to initiate Telegu classes, slokas, Bhagwat Geeta classes, Mandir Darshan program in Balvihar.
  19. A proposition was made to assist the senior individuals with rides to the temple for temple services
  20. Propositions were made to have a general display board which includes Volunteer name and details, a cleaning schedule for the deities and to introduce Volunteer badges
  21. Proposal was made to have a dedicated area/person to take care of the Media and community relations, who would oversee all digital and physical info
